• The lacrosse is a sport that originated between legend and reality, between the tribes of Native Americans who lived on the coast north-east, in the Great Lakes.For them, 'Baggataway' (as it was called lacrosse) went beyond simple sporting activities, as was a religious ritual.The natives, in fact, played for the benevolence of the Creator, which asked to treat warrior sick or grow strong and virile men.The game also served to resolve conflicts between tribes, or to prepare for war.
The legend tells of teams composed of more than a thousand players, playing fields almost fifteen miles long and lots of long days.

• The International Federation of lacrosse (ILF) was founded in 1974.And 'composed of 14 members (including a representative of the Indians of America) and 6 nations affiliate, in 1995 was also founded the European federation (ELF).
• The first World Championship was held in Melbourne in 1974
• Today, lacrosse is practised in more than 48 countries.
